Panhandle is a shared shopping list and meal planner for households. This page explains what information the app stores about you, why, and how you can delete it.
What information is stored
- Email and name — used for sign-in, and to show who added an item or is responsible for a meal.
- Password — never stored in plain text. Only a one-way hash (PBKDF2) is stored, which cannot be used to recreate your password.
- Your shopping list and meal plan for your household, and which household (list) your account belongs to.
- Push notifications (optional) — if you enable notifications, a subscription tied to your browser/device is stored, not to your account per se.
- Google account ID (only if you choose "Sign in with Google") — a unique ID used to link your account. No other information is retrieved from your Google profile.
Why information is collected
Solely to deliver the app's functionality: a shared shopping list and meal plan for your household. Information is never sold and is not used for advertising or tracking.
Who information is shared with
- Resend (email service) — sends email for password reset. Receives your email address and a one-time link when you request it.
- Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google": Google confirms your identity, and the app only receives what is needed to create or sign in to your account.
- Cloudflare — operates the app (server and database), and runs a simple bot check during sign-up/password reset to prevent abuse.
No other third parties have access to your information.
How long information is stored
As long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time yourself, in the app under Settings → Account — this removes your information.
Your rights
You can view, edit, or delete your information at any time directly in the app. If you have privacy questions, use the feedback form in the app (Settings → Feedback).
Children
The app is not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect information about children.
